Researchers present 3D reconstructions created with BioVis3D in Spain

BioVis3D reconstruction sample thumbnail Tarragona, Spain, September 16th 2009 - BioVis3D contributes to the presentation of a research about postnatal neurogenesis in certain types of fish brains.

The research and presentation was conducted by a team of investigators from "Instituto de Investigaciones Biológicas Clemente Estable" (IIBCE) from Uruguay.
With the ability to create several 3D reconstructions, the researchers were able to identify the distribution of various cells, in different regions of the brain of an adult Austrolebias fish.
This allowed them to correlate the morphological structure of the brain with the distribution of the cells.

The Congress

Since it's inception in 1985, the Spanish Society for Neuroscience (SENC) has been gathering scientists from different parts of the world for their bi-annual congress.

This year's meeting was held in Tarragona, Spain from September 16th to September 19th.

This congress has become a reference event for neuroscience researchers where they can extend their contact network and share their investigations and knowledge.

2009's edition gathered more than 800 people that participated in the various conferences, symposiums and poster presentations.
